. SWOC analysis of the department and Future Plans:
Ø Strengths
· Indian classical music is increasingly becoming very popular subject due
to many opportunities ahead
· The departmental library is well equipped which contains more than 100
books related to music theory, practical and biographies of many eminent
artists
· The department is well equipped with all the best quality musical
instruments required
· Performance and practical based teaching-learning
Ø Weaknesses
· There is still less awareness of the subject among students (especially
from rural tribal background)
Ø Opportunities
-
To arrange music concerts
-
To arrange a lecture demonstration by eminent artists
Ø Challenges
· The response from the students towards BA music is gradually increasing
but the syllabus is too heavy for the students who came from an absolute no
musical background, so some of the students have to face some difficulties
to understand and perform so they lose their interest in the subject
gradually. So faculty has to face this challenge and has to pull new ideas
to create and maintain good interest among the students of music
Ø Future plans
