Ø Strengths

· Recognized Research Laboratory

· Laboratory is well equipped with sophisticated equipments such as DSP, PCB designing kit, PLC kit, 8051, AVR, PIC and ARM Microcontroller Kits, Test and Measuring Instruments, Various softwares, Optical fiber demo kits, Communication Lab equipment, PCB Lab equipment etc.

· All PCs in department with internet facility and in LAN.

· ICT equipment: LCD projectors (2), Smart board, Document camera, Printers (4), scanner (2), wi-fi, broad band facility, PA system.

· MoUs with two training Institutes.

Ø Weaknesses

· The department has no collaboration with foreign Universities reasonably students of the department do not have direct access to foreign University.

Ø Opportunities

· Department is recognized Research Centre of SPPU University hence it enables the rural candidates to perceive their research

· Job opportunities in Industries

Ø Challenges

· To develop research laboratory for solar radiation study, wireless communication, Microwave devices, sensors, antennas.

· To develop real time applications for image processing, DAS, WSN etc

· Design new departmental career oriented courses as per the industrial need.

Ø Future Plans

· To establish the Ph.D. Research Center of SPPU, Pune

· To start projects with industrial collaboration.
