Direct and Indirect Tax



       The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). The B.Voc. programme is focused on Universities and Colleges providing undergraduate studies which would also incorporate specific job roles and their NOSs along with broad based general education. This would enable the graduates completing B.Voc. to make a meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knowledge.



         B.Voc. course is introduced with an aim to incorporate requirements of various industries into its curriculum. The course helps ensure students have adequate skills, make them work ready, enhance employability of graduates, and thus make them part of global workforce. The curriculum offers a unique blend of vocational and business management concepts. Field visits, internships, guest lectures from industry experts, experimental learning are some of the highlights of this curriculum.

        Direct-Indirect Taxation Course has wide application in various fields like Financial Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, Management Accountancy, Direct Taxation, Indirect taxation, Corporate Laws, etc. Online portal based services are also emerging scope in this field. It involves knowledge and several technical skills of various taxation, Laws, Accounting, Management Assisstance, Communication skills and many more.



The duration of the B.Voc. Course is of 3 years.



The eligibility condition for admission to B.Voc. Programme shall be 10+2 or equivalent in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science, MCVC and ITI) from any recognized board or university.

SWOT analysis of the department and Future plans: 

1. Strengths

  • 100 % Placement opportunities to students
  • Students are capable of establishing own offices and providing Services.
  • All the Students are asked to go through the rigourous Articleship in various sectors during three year course. Hence, all students get practical exposures during their studies.
  • Projects on Taxation and Accounts are compulsory part of their curriculum so that all students get hand on experience during their studies itself.
  • The curriculum of the courses is frame with the help of Professional Partners and hence the students and faculties are always updated with the ammended Acts and Taxation.
  • Industrial Visits, Guest lectures, Workshops, Lecture seriers and Seminar are regularly arranged for the students.
  • Students are already handling their various professional assignments and jobs in the areas of taxation, accounting and other jobs in the articleship.
  • Special efforts are taken for Personality Development, Communication and Interview Skill, Capability and Positive Attitude and with same intention first semester syllabus includes this subject, and thereafter conducted through extra curricular activity.

2. Weaknesses

  • Lack of awareness about advanced scope of the Practcal Field.
  • Most of the students of the department are from Rural and Backward areas and hence they are facing lot of problems in communication and presenatation.

3. Opportunities

  • Students are capable for entrepreneurship and can increase employment opportunities in the society.
  • Students can get jobs in Industries, Government Sector, Teaching Field and Professional Industries as well.
  • Self-employment through Practise in Direct Taxation, Indirect Taxation, Accounting, Costing, Auditing, Legal compliances, Fianancial advisor, Investment advisor, etc.

4. Threats

  • Department has to compete with well-established and organized Finance, Accounting and Taxation Professionl degree colleges.
  • The fast development in the technology and expectation of society is great challenges of the department.
  • Frequent changes in law and taxes also gives big challenges of ammendments.
  • Big Competition in the market about new emerging areas of practice.


Future plans

  • Increasing Collaboration with Practicing Professionals and Industries.
  • Installing New and Latest softwares to improve latest skill, technology and the knowledge about the industry.
  • Plan to organize summit / MANN for the students in the College with the help of Industry,  professionals and Institutions.
  • Arrange Lectures of Experts and experienced faculties from Industrial sector to increase the field knowledge.
